Water Based Enamel
In the past enamels were always an oil based paint. Whilst these types of paints provide a very efficient hardwearing covering they can be messy to apply and clean up after use. They are also less friendly on the environment than water based paints.
This has now changed with the new water based enamels. One such product is the Taubmans water based enamel.
Taubmans Water Based Enamel Trim is designed for interior surfaces including doors, skirting boards, windows and architraves. It can be used on exterior surfaces which are sheltered from weather such as verandahs, ceilings or windows protected by waterproof awnings.
Taubmans Water Based Enamel Trim has Teflon for increased stain resistance and to produce a washable and abrasion resistant paint finish. It is also is formulated with Microban, which works effectively to inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, mould, mildew and fungus throughout the life of the paint. The end result is a hardwearing washable paint and better air quality in your home.
Ensure surfaces to be painted are clean, dry and free of contamination. Walls should be wiped down with a mild detergent and rinsed clean with fresh water, even if they don’t appear to be dirty, to ensure removal of any surface contamination and ensure the paint has a clean surface to adhere to.
For new work seal new or bare plaster with Taubmans Prep Right Plaster Sealer. Seal bare wallboards or Gyprock with Taubmans Ultraprep or Taubmans 3 in 1 - sealer - primer - undercoat.
Simply clean up in water and wash up, away from drains. Coverage is up to 14m2/litre, depending on nature of surface.
It is now available at Maleny Paint Place, 6/14 Lawyer Street, Maleny.
